"Advanced bioplastics for the agriculture of the future"

The agricultural industry is in a relentless search for solutions that not only protect its crops, but also boost production efficiency. In this context, protected agriculture has emerged as an answer to climate challenges, pests and water conservation. Bioplastics have emerged as a growing trend in agriculture, as their composition not only supports uniform crop growth, but also, as they degrade, does not contaminate fertile soil with microplastics, unlike conventional plastics.

Bioplastics such as PLA-Premium from ADBioplastics are optimal for agriculture due to their optimised properties that provide greater control and sustainability in farming operations. PLA-Premium is a sustainable alternative as it is compostable and bio-based, in fact, the material disintegrates in 3 months under industrial composting and leaves no trace of environmentally harmful residues. At ADBioplastics, we pride ourselves on providing customised solutions, offering different grades of PLA-Premium to suit each customer’s specific needs.

What are the main applications?

Bioplastic mulching to protect crops without contaminating the soil.

Mulching, where bioplastic films are used to protect and improve crop efficiency without damaging the crop soil.

Bioplastic supports for seeds and cuttings that do not contaminate the plant.

Seed and cutting supports that replace traditional pots and allow for rapid and uniform growth of the crop. They are ideal for hydroponic agriculture.

PLA-Premium bioplastic nets for the agricultural and horticultural sector.

Nets for use in the preservation and transport of all types of foodstuffs for supermarkets. Shading nets or nets for greenhouses can also be made.

BioLoop Band, twisband closures made of compostable and bio-based PLA-Premium bioplastic.

BioLoop Band, twistband fasteners made of bioplastic filament suitable for use in vine tying guns. They elongate with heat, are resistant to twisting and do not contaminate fertile soil.
